Nightjar
Rainsoaked into patience. Finding that ink has bled my pocket fabric blue-black as the
Albemarle evening we spent on the hood of my car while the spirit ached its ivory over
the surface of the wheat grass. You asking if I ever catch myself wishing you were taller.
Your weight against me gentle and as stark as a nightjar. Our bones still hollow enough
for flight.
